Although some folks don't like to mix media, but when it has some educational value I think it's OK. The pencil background is almost 3-feet wide and the Aurora/Briar Rose cel is almost as wide -- a fantastic image! Just putting the cel on a plain background would have been a waste. [Sorry about the Lion King globe in the foreground!]
I think this is one of the most powerful scenes for one basic reason -- you can't see her face. This technique pushes the imagination to fill in the blanks and results in a much stronger impact than if we had seen her face.Attached to the pencil background was this multiplane shot-sheet:
Another item that I picked up was the pencil sketch below. What makes this great is that it is the same Sequence/Scene number as the more detailed pencil background.
The hand position in the cel is slightly different than shown in the pencil, but I have all of these items next to each other on the wall. It's a great composition set to talk about when folks visit.----- DATABASE NOTES -----
