So I did a shop.
It's been a great month for stocking up on various cosmetics. I hate when your kit gets really low on products that you have to restock. I need SO MUCH. Neurgh. I went to London for a whole day which was fun.
Apart from my skincare place being closed due to the day, we did really well. We found Tilt, MAC PRO and then Camden. I have to say that sadly I didn't get enough in Tilt so this possibly means another trip at some point!
Here is what I got :
TILT -
Bdellum kabuki brush. I love this. I mean really love it. Sadly I'm using Face and Body at the moment which I think responds better to use with fingers then brushes so I haven't used it yet! I got one of their blending brushes last time I was there and I love it. It was on the cards that I would buy another one. I really want a powder brush next time. I try to go for brushes that look different and unlike anything I have used before.
I also invested in a black Sugarpill eyeshadow as well ( Bulletproof) as I have the red shadow (love) and I think its amazing. Tilt has a great selection of Sugarpill and I love getting a chance to see all the different colors. There is a gunmetal grey that I want next with silver glitter. I love it.
I have to say that Tilt is an amazing store. The staff are always so lovely. In fact, the till wasn't printing or something happened with my receipt so the staff emailed it. Promptly too. I was very impressed.
Tilt can be found in Camden.
MAC PRO -
I didn't go as mad as I thought I would. I was preparing for a mental go mad session which ended up being very straight forward. I thought to myself, I don't want to carry all this through London!!! So I got one or two bits that I can't normally get in Nottingham and I was happy with that!
I got lip palette inserts (I love these as I can depot all my lipsticks and in this case, create a foundation palette), pigments (multi use products), Paintstick in Landscape green (no idea why I got this because I love paintsticks but rarely use), setting powder (ran out and MAC PRO do the larger size), Mixing Medium for eyeliner (only thing that sticks down glitter on the eyes),
I also bought the Kelly green PRO refill as well. I've wanted that for some time but only just got around to getting it now. I will be getting the Aqua and coral shades in time as well.
I did buy the 186 brush as well because I've wanted one for so long. I also got a 212 flat brush as well. These brushes are amazing for liner and I've been using them for body painting and theatrical painting for ages now. I had been saying I could do with another one. I love a good flat sharp brush.
Finally I picked up some sculpting powders. These are great but there are only a few shades that suit me or that are any good in general. I got Shadowy and Accentuate. Shadowy had been sold out in MAC PRO in New York when I wanted it. So delighted I have it now. Although my sculpting palette is crazy full and I've had to start a second one. Boo.
So then I went to Ireland for a week to see my folks and friends. I managed to pop into Inglot to fix my PRO card and pick up some bits. I was really impressed by the store and the choice. They were quite busy too. I've always been put off by the department store Inglots which are in weird places like under escalators and things. I think you need a store or a properly laid out concession to see the products. This was great. I finally chose something because I could see everything I needed to.
INGLOT -
I got the 10 palette after much debate. I have to say that Inglot palettes are expensive to buy empty. I was a little bit shocked. They have a good selection of palette sizes which is something that MAC lack. I wish I had gone with a smaller size as I realise now that I have no travel size palettes for personal use. Something which has to change very soon. I also do not like the magnetic parts of the palette which mean that if that was placed into a handbag - it would fly open. I wouldn't feel comfortable taking it out with me unless it had a hairband attached to it to hold it closed.
I also got the three eyeshadows pictured. I seem to be on a tip of buying warm eyeshadow colors lately. I don't know why but I went for brown shades that I cannot get anywhere else including MAC. I plan on getting more shades in August when I go back. I will fill that palette eventually but in the meantime, I'm happy with the three I got.
The multi tone lipgloss was the biggest regret I have. I haven't used it yet but I'm not happy with it. It was €20 which is extortion for lip gloss because its disgusting. I did pop it over the top of a lipstick only to have it settle into a normal clear gloss. What. Why. However, the pricing in the store was not clear and I didn't realise it was €20 until I checked my receipt. Which sucks. I wouldn't get this again and nor would I suggest it to anyone. Waste. I should have gotten more eyeshadow. Boo.
CATRICE -
I got home and there was more from Catrice waiting for me! They sent me on some transparent powder and lip gloss which was lovely. I've forgotten to put the gloss into the photo but it was a lovely coral shade. I'm also pretty happy with the powder which has gone straight into the make up bag! Happy days!
MAC -
I went back to MAC when I got home as well. This time, I got some of the things I needed but didn't want to travel with through London. I got the Duo sided palette so I could start building my foundation palette. Two dirty blonde eyebrow gels because I love them and they sell out so fast! I also got three new eyeshadows - amber lights, mystery and texture. I did remember to buy brush cleaner as well - thank god! I always forget! I have more shoots this month so I can't forget that! hahaha! So small haul but over all - it was intense!
