2020 Lincoln Aviator Hybrid Churns Out Impressive 494 HP And 630 LB-FT - More Than The Corvette Stingray!

Members of the media recently had the opportunity to drive the 2020 Lincoln Aviator and the car manufacturer has finalized horsepower and torque figures for the SUV.

Powering the standard Lincoln Aviator is a 3.0-liter twin-turbocharged V6 engine which initially, Lincoln said pumped out 400 hp and 400 lb-ft (542 Nm) of torque. That horsepower figure has remained unchanged, but torque for the finished production car has jumped to 415 lb-ft (562 Nm). Even more impressive is the Aviator Grand Touring hybrid.

When first announcing the vehicle, Lincoln said it had 450 hp and 600 lb-ft (813 Nm) of torque on tap. Speaking with CarBuzz, the company has now announced the hybrid SUV in fact delivers 494 hp and 630 lb-ft (854 Nm). That means the Aviator Grand Touring hybrid has 4 hp more than a base 2020 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray.

The Aviator Grand Touring hybrid is driven by the same 3.0-liter twin-turbo V6 as the base model but receives a 101 hp electric motor and a 13.6 kWh battery pack to generate the additional grunt. Lincoln has yet to state what the all-electric driving range for this model will be nor are details available about its fuel economy.

What we do know is that the hybrid powertrain can operate in a number of different modes. One of them is dubbed ‘Preserve EV’ which is able to charge the battery up to 75 per cent using the engine while driving. There is also a Pure EV model where the SUV runs solely on electric power.
